Abstract: The paper reviews a methodological variety of approaches to political metaphor analysis within a new branch of contemporary linguistics – political metaphorology. As political metaphor is a complex phenomenon the new branch takes shape at the intersection of several lines of investigation, namely 1) cognitive linguistics, 2) discourse-analysis, 3) cultural linguistics, 4) psychology and neuroscience, 5) social sciences
