Аннотация: Статья посвящена обзору новейших англоязычных публикаций, посвященных функционированию Telegram в глобальном цифровом пространстве. Несмотря на исключительную популярность мессенджера в России и за рубежом, специфика данного формата коммуникации научно не разработана, что определяет актуальность исследования. Цель, которую ставит автор, — определить географию и выявить проблематику изучения телеграм-сферы в иноязычной коммуникативистике и предложить определение понятия телеграм-дискурса. Теоретический характер статьи обусловливает выбор материала и методов. Выборку составляют 60 релевантных научных статей, отобранных из базы данных «Scopus» в период с 2014 г. по 2022 г. Основополагающими являются философско-логические и общенаучные методы, а также метод тематического моделирования. В результате исследования выделены четыре макрорегиона — Страны Азии, Страны Америки, Страны Западной Европы, Страны Восточной Европы и Северной Азии. Установлено, что в пространстве каждого из них прогрессируют политический и социальный векторы анализа телеграм-сферы, что акцентирует «фамильное сходство» региональных исследовательских линий в мировой научной географии. Определено, что собственно языковые и семиотические особенности дискурса, порожденного цифровой экосистемой Telegram, остаются на периферии научного внимания. Объяснено, что политические и социальные проблемы в разных по уровню развития государствах имеют наднациональный характер, выходят за границы отдельно взятой страны и формируют целостное представление об угрозах глобального мира, наиболее опасными из которых являются экстремизм, терроризм, насилие, радикализация, протестная активность, распространение недостоверной информации. В связи с усложнением семиозиса в виртуальной среде отстаивается необходимость введения в научный оборот термина «телеграм-дискурс». Дается его определение с учетом взаимодействия разнотипных средств смыслопорождения в цифровом дискурсе. Исследование вносит вклад в политическую лингвистику, дискурсологию, интернет-лингвистику, теорию коммуникации.

Abstract: The article presents a review of the latest publications on the functioning of Telegram in the global digital space. Despite the exceptional popularity of the messenger, the specificity of this format of communication has been poorly developed from the theoretical point of view which determines the urgency of this study. The author’s aim is to highlight the dominant tendencies of the research papers, dedicated to different aspects of communication in the Telegramsphere, to identify the common approaches suggested by scholars worldwide, and to give a definition of the Telegram discourse. The theoretical character of the paper determines the selection of factual material and the methods of investigation. The sample encompasses 60 relevant articles selected from the Scopus database in the period from 2014 to 2022. Certain philosophical and analytical methods, as well as the method of thematic modeling, are fundamental for the research. The author singles out four macroregions focusing on the problems of Telegramsphere — Asian countries, American countries, Western European countries, and Eastern European Countries and Northern Asia. It is argued that the political and social vectors of analysis are progressing in each of them, which emphasizes the ‘family resemblance’ of regional research against the backdrop of the global research geography. It is proved that the linguistic proper and semiotic features of the discourse, generated by the Telegram digital ecosystem, remain on the periphery of the scholarly interest. The author explains that political and social problems are universal, cross the boundaries of different states and form a holistic image of the global threats, the most dangerous of which are extremism, terrorism, violence, radicalization, protest activity, and digital promotion of fake information. Due to sophistication of semiosis in the virtual environment, it seems reasonable for the author to introduce the term Telegram discourse in theoretical circulation. The suggested definition takes into account different types of meaning generation sources in digital discourse. The findings may contribute to political linguistics, discourse studies, Internet linguistics, and communication theory.
