Аннотация: В статье рассматриваются ключевые метафоры, участвующие в концептуализации концепта «Политика США» (времен правления Дж. Буша — младшего и Барака Обамы) в идиостиле американского политолога и культуролога Анри Жиру. В ходе фреймового анализа доминирующих метафор в исследуемом идиостиле была выявлена фреймово-слотовая структура концепта «Политика США». Анализ показал, что доминирующими метафорами являются метафоры со сферой-источником «Война», морбиальная метафора, метафора механизма и метафора монстра. Наиболее разработанной становится метафора со сферой-источником «Война», концептуализирующая такие черты ведения политики, как милитаризация общества, увеличение расходов на военнопромышленный комплекс, усиление роли карательного государства. Фрейм «Ведение войны» состоит из 4 слотов, метафорически репрезентирующих политических и гражданских агентов как субъектов войны, ключевые сферы общественной жизнедеятельности как зоны боевых действий, а меры, предпринимаемые правящим классом, как средства ведения войны. Морбиальная метафора репрезентирует ведение американской политики как разнообразные виды тяжелых заболеваний. Метафоры механизма и монстра представляют политику США как машину, бездушную к нуждам рядовых граждан страны и уничтожающую правовые основы их существования, превращающую в подобных монстров участников социально-политической жизни. Метафорическая репрезентация исследуемого концепта, во-первых, выполняет категоризующую функцию, позволяющую отнести политику США и ее агентов к категории неких безжалостных воинственных существ; а во-вторых, прагматическую функцию, реализующую воздействующий потенциал метафоры на читателя и призывающую к критическому переосмыслению сложившейся ситуации

Abstract: The article studies the key metaphors involved in conceptualization of the notion «US Politics» (during the presidency of George W. Bush and Barack Obama) in the idiostyle of the American political scientist and cultural critic Henri Giroux. Frame analysis of the dominant metaphors in the idiostyle under study has revealed the frame-slot structure of the concept «US Politics». The analysis shows that the dominant metaphors are the metaphors from the source domain «war», morbid metaphors, metaphor of mechanism and metaphor of monster. The metaphor with the source domain «war» is the most elaborated one. It conceptualizes such features of policy-making as militarization of society, increasing expenditures on the military-industrial complex, and strengthening the role of the punitive state. The frame “Waging war” consists of 4 slots that metaphorically represent political and civil agents as subjects of war, key areas of public life as war zones, and measures taken by the ruling class as means of warfare. The morbid metaphor represents the U.S. political activity as various types of severe diseases. Metaphors of the mechanism and the monster represent US politics as a machine that is deaf to the needs of ordinary citizens of the country and destroys the legal foundations of their existence, turning the participants of social and political life into similar monsters. On the one hand, metaphorical representation of the concept under study has a categorizing function that allows us to classify US politics and its agents as certain ruthless militant beings; and on the other hand, it performs a pragmatic function that implements the manipulative potential of the metaphor and calls for critical rethinking of the current situation
