Аннотация: В ситуации обострения международной обстановки и политической нестабильности знание этнокультурных особенностей политического дискурса, который представляет собой определенным образом направленное воздействие государства и его представителей на массового адресата, имеет особо важное значение, так как способствует пониманию намерений сторон политического диалога и принятию адекватных решений. Данная статья посвящена арабскому политическому дискурсу. Признавая тот факт, что арабский дискурс, равно как и арабский язык, неоднородны, мы ограничиваемся литературным арабским языком. Цель статьи — выявить специфику средств реализации стратегии убеждения в арабском политическом дискурсе. Материалом анализа послужили выступления палестинского лидера Ясира Арафата, который может быть отнесен к числу ярких арабских политиков современности. Обращение к выступлениям арабского политика обусловлено возрастанием роли публичного, в том числе устного, общения и связано с необходимостью анализа формы, задач и содержания дискурса, употребляемого в конкретной политической коммуникации и политической ситуации. Основное внимание уделяется стилистическим средствам воздействия. Анализ существующих исследований арабского политического дискурса, а также собственные наблюдения позволяют предположить, что выявленные особенности речи Ясира Арафата характерны для арабского политического дискурса в целом, хотя для более объективных выводов необходимы дальнейшие исследования

Abstract: The knowledge of ethno-cultural features of political discourse is of particular importance in consideration of aggravated international relations and political instability as it enables participants of negotiations to understand intentions of each other and enables them to make adequate political decisions. This paper focuses on the Arabic political discourse which represents directed activities including persuasion by the state, its representatives and the impact that this discourse has on the mass recipient. Due to the fact that the Arabic language has many dialects, we are confined to modern standard Arabic. The purpose of this study is to identify cultural specific means of persuasion strategy in the Arabic political discourse. The data for the analysis were obtained from the speeches of the Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat, who can be classified as one of the powerful politicians of the world. The choice of this topic is caused by the increasing role of the public, including oral communication, and the necessity of the analysis of the forms, tasks and content of the discourse used in specific political communication and political situation. The paper further examines stylistic means of persuasion used by the Palestinian leader. The analysis of existing studies of the Arabic political discourse as well as our own observations suggest that features of Arafat's speeches are typical for the Arabic political discourse in general, although for more objective conclusions further research is needed
