Abstract: The author represents the analysis of verb semantics, characterizing the activity of the thunderstorm in Bulgakov’s novel “Master and Margaret”. Analysing valency links of the lexeme thunderstorm and verb semantics, the author deduces that 1) according to Bulgakov’s conception the activity of the thunderstorm is reasonable; 2) the activity of the thunderstorm submits to Woland’s indications, regularly attends the activity of his retinue. Therefore it is argued that despite the thunderstorm is inanimate it could be included into the Woland’s retinue
