Abstract: The author gives a summary of works in the field of political linguistics that have been completed in recent years in the Ukraine. It serves to prove that Ukrainian scholars show great interest and appreciation of political communication. In their investigation they apply a variety of methods, techniques and approaches. Active and eventful political life in the Ukraine today serves as a rich ground for scientific exploration. At the same time a good deal of works is devoted to the totalitarian past and its relapses, as well as comparative studies of Russian and Ukrainian political discourse
