Abstract: In this article the matter of metaphorical modeling of the conceptual dyad “one’s own — alien” in the novel “Telluria” by V. Sorokin is considered. Basic types of metaphors that represent opposition “one’s own — alien” and historical prototypes of fictional propaganda of the book are found. The methods used in the research are based on the theory of conceptual metaphor worked out by G. Lakoff and M. Johnson, theory of metaphorical modeling (N. D. Arutyunova, E.S. Kubryakova, A. P. Chudinov) and the theory of concepts of V. I. Karasik. The main types of metaphors are singled out, which represent the opposition “own - alien” (zoomorhic, phytomorphic, religious – with the source domain “supernatural”). Historical prototypes of the propaganda shown in the book are revealed. They are connected with the fact that the novel is written in the genre of antiutopia political satire
