Abstract: Here we present a scope of methods applied to description of such precedent names that form metaphorical source “The History of Russia” in modern press. We differentiate between productive and non-productive, one-target and multi-target types of precedent names, describe connotative and denotative, evaluative and non-evaluative use of precedent names
